“Expertise, Enthusiasm and Experience, just what you want from a workshop, top drawer”

JILL, CHESHIRE

“Paul - You are a lighting guru! Thanks to you I know how to get the very best out of my lighting set up and my studio space. What a fab day! I would recommend your 1-1 without hesitation”

CHANELLE, SURREY

"The main thing I learned was seeing light and how it effects the subject, how it relates to the background and how it affects the mood of the shot. I really enjoyed Paul's relaxed and at times, humorous style of teaching! It really made learning the technicalities of studio lighting fun. "

"I have attended two of Paul's lighting workshops - one based outside on location and the second studio based. In addition to the excellent tuition and guidance from Paul himself, we worked with professional agency standard models and MUA's on both occasions. Paul's experience and credibility is obvious from the moment you meet him and just listening to him would be worth the workshop fee alone - understanding how to scout and maximise the use of a location, how to build rapport with your model/subject, and finally how to use both natural and artificial lighting. At no point though are you subjected to a monologue of his achievements - Paul is no social media butterfly milking his adoring fans but an experienced pro looking to share his deep knowledge to improve standards and skills in both lighting and photography.

Throughout the course of the day we worked on several looks, and on the first workshop several locations as well. I learnt an incredible amount just in working with large reflectors and natural light for beautiful fashion images and having never before had access to mobile lighting was amazed at the results we got using bigger lights outdoors. Simple tips from Paul made for huge improvements in my work either by him interacting with the model and shooting a couple of frames or when he cast his expert eye at my own images on the back of the camera, and suggested ways to improve the shot. You have plenty of time to take considered images without it being a frenzied pack and the experienced models give you plenty of variety and dedicated time for your lens. Paul builds up the day from simple to more complex so there is never any chance you might get left behind. I have no doubt I'm a more confident photographer around models, and am delighted with the images I can now capture thanks to investing time with him.

I'd thoroughly recommend attending one of his workshops if you want to learn from one of the best - and if you are lucky you might even get a story or two over ham, egg and chips at lunchtime."
